Goldstar Status: Available for joint venture.
Target: High-grade (up to 19 g/t Au) quartz-tourmaline stockwork zone and outlying Au-Ag fissure veins.
Location: The Goldstar Project is in the Trinity Mining District on the eastern flank of the Trinity Mountains, 10 miles north of Lovelock, Nevada.
Ownership: AuEx controls 100% of about 700 hectares of unpatented mining claims.
History: Mining in the Trinity District dates back to the mid-1800's when very high-grade gold/silver veins were worked from such mines as the Evening Star, Lucky Boy, Morning Star, Steiner, and others. The Evening Star was the first mine in the area and by 1864 it was well developed with its own five-stamp mill. Small-scale production from the area occurred again in the 1940's.
Geology: Goldstar is noted for widespread and common occurrences of gold and/or silver-rich quartz-tourmaline-pyrite fissure veins and less common local stockwork zones. These deposits occur within a phaneritic Cretaceous multi-phased granodiorite to monzonite stock that measures 3 miles across. North-to-south and east-to-west-oriented Oligocene to Miocene felsic and lamprophyre intrusive dikes cut the main stock; some are also host to mineralization. Argyllic alteration and local silicification occur with this mineralization. Some of this mineralization occur in limonitic quartz-rich shear zones and breccia. The stock intruded meta-sediments of the Triassic/Jurassic Auld Syne Lang Group. These meta-sediments were an effective caprock to the intrusion and to mineralization. Subsequently, the stock has been breached by erosion. A large north-south felsic dike complex appears to form a graben within the stock and trends north and south across the western quarter of the stock. Further, eastward-oriented felsic intrusions form a central corridor across the middle of the stock. Both intrusion orientations are sites of significant mineralization. In Trinity Canyon, the historic gold/silver occurrences are veins that trend northeast and dip moderately to steeply southward. At other areas beyond Trinity Canyon, some veins take on very shallow dips, while others are quite vertical. East of Trinity Canyon is one particular high-grade gold-only stockwork quartz tourmaline breccia zone that tends to orient itself along an east-west-directed vertical shear zone, possibly with the configuration of a vertical breccia pipe or vertically-oriented stockwork zone of high-grade gold mineralization. In conclusion, Goldstar represents an interesting area to explore for both high-grade low tonnage fissure veins and larger low-grade large volume stockwork mineralization.
AuEx Ventures, Inc. is currently seeking a joint venture partner for the Goldstar Property. To learn more about this property and other joint venture opportunities, please contact Eric M Struhsacker, Exploration Manager, US at (775) 337-1545 or email him at: estruhsacker@auex.com. AuEx Ventures, Inc. is a TSX listed precious metals exploration company that has a current portfolio of over twenty properties in Nevada, two projects in Argentina and one project in Spain.
The Company controls over 167,000 acres of unpatented claims and fee land. Eleven of the projects are in joint venture agreements with seven companies providing exploration funding. The Company applies the extensive Nevada exploration experience and high-end technical skills of its founders to search for and acquire new precious metal exploration projects that are then offered for joint venture. 11.2009
