| Eric M. Struhsacker
AIPG Certified Professional Geologist #11107 Position: Exploration Manager, USA
Eric is a professional geologist with approximately 34 years of exploration experience that includes 27 years mainly in Nevada. He has run drill campaigns (most recently the Pinson Project for Homestake Mining Company) and been involved in developing and managing innovative regional exploration programs. He has been involved in the discovery and development of several mines in Nevada. Eric's expertise is in hydrothermal metal mineralization, as well as geothermal research and exploration. Eric is a graduate of the Dartmouth University Geosciences Department.
RESOURCE EXPLORATION ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Delineation of Hydrothermal Metals Deposits
- Developed geologic models from drilling data at the Lone Tree, Trenton Canyon, Valmy, and Pinson Mines in northern Nevada.
- Designed and managed multi-rig drilling programs utilizing reverse circulation, mud rotary, and core rigs to expand and delineate gold reserves.
- Assembled and managed teams of professionals charged with conducting delineation work.
- Assisted mine engineers in identifying potential reinjection or infiltration sites for effluent from the pit dewatering program at the Lone Tree Mine.
Exploration for Hydrothermal Metals Deposits
- Designed and conducted reconnaissance programs for base and precious metals in the Great Basin, Rocky Mountains, Southwest U.S., and the northern Appalachian Mountains.
- Identified drilling targets by conducting detailed and regional mapping to develop models of likely paleo-hydrothermal flow patterns and sites of metal deposition. Integrated the geologic information with geochemical, geophysical, and remote sensing data to enhance exploration models.
- Discovered metals deposits by designing and implementing early stage reverse circulation, mud rotary, and core drilling programs.
- Designed and performed drill sample logging methods appropriate to the geologic setting of each prospect.
Evaluation of Geothermal Resources and Exploration Methods
- Developed models for structural and lithologic controls on hydrothermal flow patterns by means of detailed mapping in the Corwin Springs-Gardiner area, Montana and at Beowawe and McCoy Springs, Nevada. Conducted Nevada work as a researcher in the DOE Industry-Coupled Program, 1978-1980.
- Managed multidisciplinary team of professionals developing resource models for potential low-temperature geothermal applications at Artesian City, Idaho and Star Valley, Wyoming. Work conducted under DOE Exploration Technology Program, 1980-1981.
- Enhanced understanding of active and paleo-hydrothermal systems by integrating multidisciplinary geoscientific data acquired from active geothermal systems.
