Target: Numerous primary gold targets exist that include both drilled and undrilled surface mineralization with multigram gold samples. The most advanced drilling is at Acrobat and Juggler where steep down dip extensions need to be followed down a graben bounding fault with intercepts including a half ounce of gold. Undrilled targets include Mountain Top and SW Section 34. Numerous lower level anomalies with less than 1 gram gold and good Carlin style geochemistry need to be followed up over many square miles.

Location: The West Pequop Project is about 20 miles ESE of Wells Nevada, just south of Highway 80 by about 7 miles in Elko County Nevada. The project area encompasses approximately 8,300 acres consisting of 7,000 acres of unpatented mining claims, 1,220 acres of leased fee land and 160 acres of surface rights.

Ownership: A joint venture agreement was signed with Agnico-Eagle, Inc. of Toronto. It provides for the parties to enter into an exploration earn-in agreement pursuant to which Agnico may earn a 51% interest in the western portion of AuEx's Pequop project including the Acrobat/Juggler, Section 34 and Mountain Top areas of mineralization. Agnico may earn a 51% interest by spending $5,000,000 over a five year period and is committed to spend at least $600,000 in the first year. Upon Agnico earning its 51% interest, a joint venture will be formed. Agnico may then elect to earn an additional 19% by completing all subsequent expenditures through completion of a feasibility study.

History: Exploration beginning in the mid 1990's in the Pequop Mountains by Pittston Nevada Gold discovered gold bearing jasperoids on the west side of the range after following up anomalies from a regional BLEG survey. Gray jasperoids running multigram gold eluded discovery because they were the same color as the surrounding carbonate rocks. Extensive exploration including geologic mapping, geochemistry (stream sediment, soil, ridge and spur, and rock chip sampling), geophysics including a helicopter geophysical survey including magnetics, radiometrics and resistivity, and drilling of both core and RC at Acrobat, Juggler and Section 34 were aggressively carried out through 2000.

Geology: West Pequop mineralization is hosted in shelf carbonates of Cambrian age. Mineralization is largely confined to the regionally equivalent Cambrian Notch Peak Formation. Mineralization is both in bedded units and on high angle structures one of which is part of a series of graben bounding faults.
