Status: NuLegacy Gold has entered into an earn-in agreement with AuEx Ventures, Inc.
Highlights:
• Geologic and structural data suggest that an offset extension of the Pequop Gold District lies beneath alluvial cover of the southern pediment of the Wood Hills.
• Rock chip samples returned Carlin-style geochemistry peripheral to the covered target area
• Water well and geophysical data indicate shallow depth to bedrock in target area.
• Mixed BLM and private checkerboard lands in accessible terrain
Target: A southwestern extension of the Pequop Gold Trend beneath alluvial cover on a shallow pediment platform.
Location: On the southern flank of the Wood Hills, fifteen miles southeast of Wells and Interstate-80 in Elko County, Nevada.
Ownership: 100% owned by AuEx, Inc
Geology: The Wood Hills South Project lies over a shallow covered pediment area where favorable stratigraphy, geochemistry and structure is believed to exist hosting a possible southwestern extension to the Pequop Gold District. Geologic maps of the southern Wood Hills indicate that Eastern-assemblage platform rocks of Devonian to Ordovician age underlie the pediment. Numerous exposures of jasperoid, silicification, and decalcification adjoining the pediment supported rock chip geochemistry suggest the presence of a Carlin Type gold system. The outcropping areas of the southern Wood Hills could be the distal vestiges of large Carlin-style system preserved under the pediment. Gravity and magnetic data document the presence of a southwest-trending structural corridor beneath alluvial cover.
History: The area is along the flank of the historic Lafayette Mining District where minor amounts of ore containing silver, lead and gold and were first described in1870. Santa Fe Mining Company had an exploration program in early 1990's and was reported to have drilled several holes in the historic portions of the mining district. The target corridor identified by AuEx remains untested.
